Accessibility on the web is making sure everybody - you and me, blind, deaf, color-blind, indexing robots, video cameras, what- and whoever - can access the content of the web.

A hangover from the dreaded browserwars is that web developers made webpages accessible only to certain proprietary standards that only certain browsers could render, instead of using open standards and good-practices which all could interpret.


WAI is the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative which is an initiative that has been set forth in an attempt to rectify the situation.
